Email router listening port RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am looking to deploy CRM in a multi-server environment. We have a couple of front-end server, async servers, emails routers and reportings services. At each layer, there is a VIP that a DNS. The configuration is done so that we always point to the name of the VIP, which will route traffic to individual servers. For example, we have a VIP for asynch server which we call crma and would route traffic to crma1 or crma2. The load balancer is configured to use port 80 in this instance.

It is working fine for us until it comes to Email router. I would have expected email router to be listening on ports 25, 143 and 110 (the email ports) so when when we configuerd the load balancer to balance on these ports, it will be resolved straight.

Does anybody know what port the email router listens on?

Any help will be really appreciated.

  • The email router doesn't listen on a port. For incoming connections, it initiates connections to a POP3 or Exchange server. The ports it uses to connect can be changed on the advanced tab for an incoming profile.

For outgoing connections, the email router initiates a connection and by default uses port 25. This can also be changed on the advanced tab for an outgoing profile.
