Automatic log file creation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does Windows Live OneCare generate a log file after Antivirus scanning has completed?

I need something outside of the support log, something that is generated and saved and or updated so that I can check regular expressions.

  • The logging is in a format that we can't access without creating the support log from within OneCare.

On my Vista machine, they are here:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OneCare Protection\Scans\History\Results

  • Nope - never hurts to ask!

You might also look at the external support log creation process. It may produce logs that you can parse and read through.

Out of curiosity, what are you looking to get from the logs?
