Changing default filter in CRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

On the Account Details form, there is link to Quotes in the near navigation. This link displays all the quotes associated with that particular customer.
However this view is by default filtered to show the quotes in 'Draft' status. Is there a way by which this filter can be changed so that the view displays the quotes in 'Active' status by default instead of the quotes in 'Draft' status.

  • Hi Rinish,

There is no supported method to change this filter.  Unsupported, you could change this via client side scripting -- but this would most likely break at the next crm upgrade and is an would be an unsuported customization.  Here's a blog on a similar change -- the 30 day filter view in activities.

  • If you want to add another item in the Details pane, you could simply create a new view which would allow you to modify the filter during creation. This would give you a 'Draft Quotes' and an 'Active Quotes' selection. After creating the view, customize the Account Entity by adding a new 1:N relationship between the Account and the Quote. You can then name and place the link in the details pane and name it 'Active Quotes'. This may survive future roll-ups better than modifying the code.

  • Hi ALex,

I tried the your suggestion and wrote the javascript code with the necessary modifications. But it gives me a 'Grid Refresh Failed Error'. Any idea why?
