Windows7 Build 7601 not genuine?

Question
-
I have started getting a message about a month ago in the bottom right corner of my screen saying "Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine".
My original ASUS laptop came with Vista installed. I then bought Windows 7 from the online Microsoft store and it ran fine for over a year. Last December I had to reinstall Windows7 to clear up some system slowness and virus issues. Because I bought it online, I did not have an original CD so I mistakenly tried to reinstall from a copy my help desk gave me. Of course it was a trial version of a different version (Windows 7 Ultimate instead of the Windows Home) I bought. Working with Microsoft, I was able to get a new installation disk and reinstall using my original product key. Now after a Windows Update I am back getting this error.
I ran the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) and Here are the results

The data in your report conflicts in almost every detail with your account.
The machine appears to have been built in 2011 - and would therefore have shipped with Windows 7
The SLIC table in the report is also for Windows 7
the Key is the ASUS OEM_SLP Key for Windows 7 Home Premium - which is only valid on machines that shipped with Win y pre-installed.
The actual error in the report indicates that the installation of Windows 7 using this Key was done with a Retail disk - which is the only point not at odds with your account.
You need to change the Key to the one you bought from MS - go back to your account in the store and login and you should find the Key there - although if this was as you say an Upgrade key, you will need to do an upgrade install to get it properly set.
Please check the COA sticker on the machine's case - for which version and edition of Windows is it valid??
