windows hpc 2012 r2 update3 causing excessive network traffic RRS feed

  • Question

  • We recently updated to windows hpc 2012 r2 update 3, now it is causing an excessive amount of network traffic between the external sql server and the headnode. Basically it causes the headnode to not respond until the sql server and the head node are both rebooted. We didnt have this issue with update 2.

I have already submitted a ticket with microsoft, but I wanted to check in here to see if anyone else has had this issue and if you resolved it.

    Thanks!

  • 1. What is your workload look like: the number of jobs, number of tasks in the peak hour?

    2. How many on premise nodes in your cluster and how many azure nodes in the cluster?

    3. Can you run SQL profiler when the traffic is heavy and share us the logs? through hpcpack@Microsoft.com? We need to understand what are those network traffic.
