Preferred the blue border to the small proposed check RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure about everyone else, but I definately liked the blue border around posts that have been proposed as answer.  It seems to have disappeared, though the green has stayed and we've introduced a new red border for abusive posts.

I suppose my main suggestion right now would be to give the forums a more consistent look and feel.  While I like some of the new features on the forums, I've been a bit disappointed with the lack of a cohesive look and feel for the forums.  It just seems a bit busy to me, and I'm never sure whether to look for an icon or an outline or a color or a font, etc, etc.

Don't hear my wrong, though, I do appreciate the hard work you're doing.  Keep it up.

  • Blue border will be back in this months release.. It was actually not intended to go away just a mismatch between the css and the class on the message.

  • Personally I do not care about posts marked or proposed as answer (especially the latter).

Rather I would like use borders to distinguish:
    • old posts
    • new posts since thread last viewed or expanded
    • the post being replied to (when you are replying)
    • the actual composition window
The first two would be useful mostly in the threaded view where the new posts do not necessarily appear at the end

The second two because right now, if you scroll up and down while responding in a long thread, you can get completely lost.

  • There's an icon alongside the post. So we don't really need a blue border in a hurry. What we do need (BACK!) in a hurry is the name of the person who proposed the post. I hope that is coming very soon - and at least not later than the blue border.

Of course ban people proposing their own posts as answers and you won't need blue borders as often.

Which reminds me - can you automatically remove sigs that include the word "answer" ?  That would get rid of the sigs out there which say things like "please propose/mark my post as an answer". (Another reason for removing any propose marks on those posts!)
