Subscription ID not found when creating a cluster with HPC IaaS Deployment script RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When creating a HPC cluster with the Microsoft HPC Pack IaaS Deployment script v. 4.5.2, the process often aborts with the following error message:

The HPC cluster deployment failed: [CheckComputeNodes] The subscription id xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx doesn't exist.
    Parameter name: id

In spite of the message, we know that the subscription actually exists because a cluster was created in the same subscription a short while ago.

Launching the HPC IaaS script a few times when this error occurs does not allow to avoid it. Based on our experience, one has to wait for a few hours, sometimes an entire day before being able to create a cluster again.

We would greatly appreciate knowing the cause and a possible workaround for this problem.

    Thank you.

  • Could you upgrade the Azure PowerShell to the latest version and try?
