Forum incomptible with Edge on mobile phone?

Question
-
I have a Microsoft Lumia 640 (Win 10 pre-installed) - everything works fine with the forum EXCEPT that I can find no way to get the Keyboard to come up when I hit the Reply (or any other relevant) button.
Is this an Edge thing, a Forum Thing - or specific to my phone??
Ideas, anyone?

There is no official support for phone browsers.
For android phones running chrome it does only works if you request desktop site from within chrome application. You could try similar on windows phone.

There's nothing in there that tells you how to access the option, that I could see?
I think it would be the Website preference option and think they should have had it selected instead of Mobile version for clarity.
But I'm still curious about whether you have anything equivalent to Developer Tools under Edge or IE and if so what all you would be able to do there. Notice that right-click Inspect element is just one way of several for getting into it. Do you have to use Edge?

Ah - I discovered the problem!
The ... menu is actually longer than the screen (but there's no obvious way to see that is the case) - if you scroll down you can get to Settings, where the appropriate mode can be selected!
Thanks for helping to solve a VERY confused person's problem!
...oh - and that didn't help any with the F12 alternatives in mobile :(

Rats!
So much for dogfooding then? ;)
EDIT - Chrome is only for Android Mobiles :(

Correct, I'd look for a similar option with your phone OS using edge browser.

That's a major PITA - one of the reasons I opted for the Lumia was for forum compatibility :(
The System Requirements on the forum states that Edge is compatible - but neglects to say that it's for Desktops only :( :(

I just got that FAQ somewhat updated. I also asked them to add details of possible phone issues but did not happen. It sounds like you're saying you know for a fact that phone-edge does not have a possibility to launch a desktop site? If so you might mention it via the phone feedback app

All I know is that the forums work fine until I hit a Reply button - and then there's no cursor, and no Keyboard:(
Since I can access the Wikis fine and post there, it's something in the Forums that seems adrift - or that Edge Mobile doesn't support (or is broke on my phone!)

They may know over here if desktop site on phone is possible.

What all can you do in Edge on your phone? Does right-click Inspect element work? FWIW I just did that and switched Emulation to a phone. It reproduced your symptom. Can you switch Emulation to Desktop? Maybe you will be able to use the forum scripts then.
Good luck

Hi Robert,
I can use just about every other function on these forums - just not the 'Reply' - I can move posts and give the reason, I can split, etc.
What I can't do is find any way to emulate the desktop :(

FWIW, my build no is... 10.0.14905.1000
I've put a request for assistance in to a specialist Win10 forum - and I'll post the results here ;)

I can find no such option anywhere (sensible, at least)
No, there's no equivalent that I've found to the F12 option of desktop Edge.
Chrome isn't offered for Win10 Mobile and there's no way I want to use Firefox. I can't install IE of any flavour that I'm aware of.

... I do hope that they give us the option on a site-by-site basis soon!
