How to Setup a MS Domain? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been using the www.lastname.hphomeserver.com since I started using WHS and have been living with the certificate error message.

I just saw a post that says if you use the MS Domain (www.lastname.homeserver.com) you won't get the certificate error. If this is correct I'd like to switch from my HP Domain to a MS Domain.

How do you setup a MS Domain?

How do you get rid of the HP Domain?

I'll appreciate any help I can get.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  • 1.  Windows Home Server Console - Settings - Remote Access
    2.  Under "Domain Name" heading - select "Unconfigure"
    3.  Then run "Setup" under "Domain Name" and pick the Windows Live Custom Domains service.

You will access your domain name as http://lastname.homeserver.com - you don't need the "www"
