  • Hi Vinay,

Yes if you have the resources in Excel then you can open the Enterprise Resource Pool in Project Professional then copy and paste the resources in from the Excel sheet, just make sure that the columns match up in Excel and Project Professional. Please see this post for more details:

  • Hi Vinay,

In addition to PWMather's excellent solution - you can also use the Active Directory Synchronization option of project server. your network engineer needs to map your resources in the respective groups and you have configure the sync mapping of project server groups with those AD groups.

the additional benefit of having this sync enable will be that you dont have to manually manage your resources every time their details, such as email/login detail/status of the resource, will be updated.

You can see this techNet article related to the resources AD sync settings in details: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197571.aspx

    hope this also helps.

  • Hi there,

No there is no option to do that and wouldn't be supported. If you have the resources in another system / database you could use custom code and the Project Server PSI to sync the resources into Project Server.

    Hope that helps
