CRM 4.0 Email form RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm using CRM 4.0 and have a workflow that sends an email, but was wondering if it was possible to send an email that contains some sort of form (possibly a html form) that allows the email recipient to fill in some details and then submit the details back to crm (so when you click on submit it will call either a c# or javascript method/function that will create or update a record).

    Would appreciate any suggestions?

  • MS CRM alone won't do it.
You'll need to use an application like the Zoomio Campaigner to accoplish this.

Its a beautiful piece of software that sends dynamic HTML forms and allows you to collect submited information. I know beacuse I was the lead developer of the team that built it. ;)

If you dont mind getting your hands dirty or if you have a lot less requirements, then you'll need to write code for the functionality.

  • Hi Hassan,

I've had a look on the website and although it looks like a great module, I don't think I could justify the cost - as I wouldn't use many of the other features.

I only need to be able to have a form sent with the email that can post data back to CRM (webservice update or something). If I have to get my hands dirty, then I will have to do that... is it a case of putting javascipt and forms directly into the email content on CRM (for example, create a template containing all the html etc, or use an IFrame that open another page)... what's the best way to do this that is also easy to support (i'm using IFD too)?

  • That might require some thinking + diagrams to illustrate the solution. I'll post the answer either tonight or tomorrow.
