Error on initialization of FileSyncProvider RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am working with Sync framework sample and getting one error. On line "provider = New FileSyncProvider(replicaId, syncParticipant)" it gives following error

    System.IO.FileNotFoundException occurred
      Message="The FileSyncProvider must be initialized to perform this operation."
      Source=""
      StackTrace:
           at Microsoft.Synchronization.Files.Interop.FileSyncProviderClass.Initialize(Guid& guidReplicaId, String pcszReplicaRootPath, String pcszMetadataFilePath, String pcszTempDirectoryPath, FILESYNC_INIT_FLAGS dwSyncFlags, IFileSyncScopeFilter pScopeFilter, IFileSyncProviderCallback pCallback)

    I am working on Windows Vista Enterprize. I have installed SQL Compact edition 3.5 and "CTP1SyncServicesADO_x86.msi" (as I use intel core machine).

    I verified that "filesync.id" file was generated on rootDirectoryPath, while generating replicaId.

    I have tried many examples from net with almost similar code, but every code stops on initialization of FileSyncProvider.

    I don't understand what file it is looking for and not finding it.

    Has anyone faced similar issue or have any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks,

    mani
