Is LiveSearch 1.1 API Still Functional? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have some code that uses LiveSearch 1.1 and although I see that LiveSearch 2.0 is now available, I don't see anywhere that says that 1.1 is no longer functional.

    In my app, this code is failing when run against a service reference pointing to the old WSDL. It says that the object could not be created.

    searchService = new WindowsLiveSearch.MSNSearchPortTypeClient;

    TIA,

    Dianne

  • Although we are no longer accepting new API 1.1 registrations, the service is still up.

    I'll assume that this is a C# application. If the application fails when creating a new proxy object, then there is an issue with the application. At this point no requests will have been made to the web service.

    If you could provide us with a stack trace, we should be able to help you further.
