RE: VALIDATION AND WHAT TO DO??? RRS feed

    I AM RIGHT BACK WHERE I STARTED AT THIS THREAD I STARTED MONTHS AGO... BUT I THOUGHT THAT MATTERS LIKE MINE TOOK TIME TO LOOK INTO BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM MICROSOFT...SO MY ONLY RECOURSE IS THROUGH MY THREAD HERE...AS I EXPLAINED TO MICROSOFT,  I HAD MY COMPUTER BUILT FOR ME BY A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN.. I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS THAT I PURCHASED FOR MY COMPUTER AS I PURCHASED THE PARTS THROUGH NICIX ONLINE AND THE TECHNICIAN  PUT THE COMPUTER TOGETHER... ONE DAY I WENT TO THE MICROSOFT SITE TO UPGRADE MY MESSENGER AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS INVALID... I CALLED UP THE TECHNICIAN THAT BUILT MY COMPUTER AND HE TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE IN ERROR THAT I AM VALID.. THAT HE PURCHASED THE WINDOWS HIMSELF AND HE KNOW'S THAT I AM VALID... THEN I REMEMBERED THAT I HAD CAUGHT A FEW VIRUSES AND I HAD TO TAKE MY COMPUTER TO THE TECHNICIAN TO HAVE THEM TAKEN OUT.. AT THAT TIME, HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD BACKED UP ALL MY FILES AND MADE COPIES OF ALL MY DISCS FOR SAFE KEEPING... WHEN I  PICKED UP THE COMPUTER HE TOLD ME THAT I AM LUCKY THAT HE BACKED UP ALL OF MY COMPUTER AND ITS DISCS AS THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT AND 2 OF MY DICS WERE BROKEN... WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED AT THEM  AND THEY WERE REGUALAR DISCS IN THE JACKET WITH THE NUMBERS I NEEDED TAPED TO THE INSIDE OF THE CD JACKET..  HE TOLD ME THAT HE FELT BAD AND OFFERED TO FIX MY COMPUTER FOR FREE THE NEXT COUPLE OF TIMES.... NOW BACK A  LITTLE BIT, WHEN MICROSOFT TOLD ME THAT I COULDN'T GET MY NEW MESSENGER BECAUSE I WAS INVALID, I TOOK MY COMPUTER AND ALL OF ITS DICS TO ANOTHER TECHNICIAN AT A LOCAL STORE HERE.. HE TOLD ME THE DREADFUL NEWS... THAT I HAD PIRATED SOFTWARE FOR MY WINDOWS AND FOR ONE OTHER PROGRAM.  MY HEART JUST SANK....SO I TALKED TO MICROSOFT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM... A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME THAT IF I HAD PIRATED SOFTWARE THAT I COULD MAKE MY COMPUTER GENUINE BY PAYING MICROSOFT 100.00 DOLLARS.  SO I SPOKE WITH MICROSOFT ON THIS AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A BUNCH OF INFORMATION.. SO I FILLED OUT A FORM THAT THEY HAD GIVEN  ME AND STILL I HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM THEM... I KEPT TELLING MYSELF THAT IT MIGHT TAKE AWHILE SO I LET THINGS GO UNTIL NOW... AND WHEN I CAME BACK TO THIS THREAD.  THE URLS ON THIS PAGE WOULD NOT WORK FOR ME.. I WOULD CLICK ON THEM AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN... I TRIED CUTTING AND PASTING INTO MY BROWSER BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME DO THAT EITHER...

    WOULD YOU  PLEASE SEND ME AN ANSWER EITHER WAY WHETHER YOU CAN HELP ME OR NOT. AS THIS IS MAKING ME SICK TO MY STOMACH...

    Most likely you will need to fix the issue of why the diagnostic tool isn't working properly. 

     

    Is this the process that you went through below?

     

    "Please try validating windows again by visiting the following location:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine next click on the "Validate Windows" button in the upper right corner.  What happens?  The genuine site can also provide you with valuable information so please take time and review the documents.  Another site for helping customers identify genuine vs. non-genuine software is located here:  http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/ 

    Next please download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012, (provided you have administrator rights) then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.  This would assist us immensely so we may analyze possible causes for a failed validation.  Next we will begin formulating a resolution for what may be causing the problem."

     

    When you cut and paste into your browser what type of error message are you receiving?

    Please repost with the MGAdiag results to continue support for the WGA issues.

  • HI IT IS DEB BACK WITH YOU!!!  THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE... IT WAS VERY ENLIGHTNING TO SAY THE LEAST... MY COMPUTER HAS ME BLOCKED FROM EVERY MICROSOFT WEB SITE THAT I CAN FIND...  WHAT I MEAN IS MY COMPUTER IS BLOCKING MICROSOFT... TODAY MY COMPUTER ASKED ME IF I STILL WANTED MICROSOFT BLOCKED... I WAS VERY CONFUSED AND UNBLOCKED IT.. IT HAPPENED OVER AND OVER SO I WENT LOOKING INTO THE DEEP INNER TWINGINGS OF MAX <MY COMPUTER.  I FOUND THAT EVERYWHERE YOU CAN BLOCK SOMEONE, MICROSOFT IS RIGHT IN THERE WITH THEM.. WHEN I WENT TO THE SITE THAT YOU SUGGESTED AND DID THE THINGS IT TOLD ME TO, NOTHING HAPPENED.. I DIDN'T SEE ANY BARS ON MY TOP TOOLBAR OR BELOW IT.. I TRIED THE ALTERNATE METHOD AND IT WAS A NO GO.. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET INTO THIS SITE TONIGHT WAS TO TRY ABOUT 8 TIMES AND JUST ABOUT BROKE MY CONTROL BUTTON... I REALLY DON'T NO WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I AM TAKING MAX IN TO SEE A SPECIALIST AND SEE WHAT HE THINKS.. MAYBE I HAVE A VIRUS THAT IS BEING MISSED AND SETTING IT OFF.. I HAVE A FEW OTHER FUNNY QUIRKS ALSO GOING ON AT THE SAME TIME... SO GIVE ME A WEEK AND I WILL BE BACK TO LET YOU NO WHAT I  FOUND OUT.....   THANK YOU AGAIN... AND PLEASE DON['T STOP RESPONDING TO THE THREAD AS I MAY BE BACK WITH THE SAME  PROBLEM ??? OH GOD!!! I SURELY HOPE NOT..

    I WAS UNABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING THINGS THAT YOU HAD SUGGESTED BUT WHEN I GET BACK AND I NO THAT I HAVE A SUPER CLEAN COMPUTER THEN I WILL LOOK AT DOING THOSE FOLLOWING ITEMS...

    JUST A LITTLE  PERSONAL NOTE:  I WAS IN A VERY BAD CAR ACCIDENT AND IT LEFT ME WITH SLIGHT BRAIN DAMAGE.. YOU WOULDN'T NO IT TO TALK TO ME BUT MY FRUSTRATION LEVEL CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH AND I HAVE BEEN DILIGENTLY WORKING AT THIS FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS.. SO  PLEASE BEAR WITH ME...     DEB4194,

     

    I'm very sorry to hear about what had happened, but chances are, there are other issues with the computer besides

    the Windows Genuine Advantage issue you have.  I suggest going to a local support person and having them look at your

    computer in it's entirety.

     

    It's very possible that you may have a virus or bug and that is what is causing the machine not to work properly.
