Server 2012, is it fully compatible with SBS 2011

Question
-
We are looking at remote desktops/virtual desktops for a distributed sales force. Small numbers though up to 20 remote access people.
We have SBS2011 and were about to go through the route of using the second licence to load a 2008r2 server to use as the platform for virtualising things.
Is server 2012 standard a better option? Will it work ok in a SBS 2011 environment? Will all the 2012 features be available?

Why?
It has relevance to both SBS and Server 2012.
