Issues after upgrading to Windows Vista Business RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

I upgraded my laptop to Windows vista Business from Windows vista Home Basic edition. I downloaded the software using my MSDN account. Installation went fine, no errors Smile

I installed IIS for my work, since then it is not working properly. I can open control panel and as soon as i try to open any user accounts or try to uninstall any existing software or installing any fixes downloaded from the websites are not  responding. When I see the task manage these tasks either running or they won't appear in the list.

I enabled Administrator account (unchecked UAC in safe mode). I can login Administrator in safe mode but in normal mode. It accepts the password and thinks .... to show the desktop.

    Please help from this issues.

    Thank you,

    Uday

  • Hello Uday,

I am unsure if I understood your problem, but it does not appear to be related to Windows Genuine Advanage Validation.

~If your issue IS WGA Validation related, then please go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click the "Validate Windows" button. If there are any problems, look to the lower left of the page for a light gray error code similar to this [0xc004c4a8]. Record this code then run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report and the error code, into a response message in this thread.

~If your issue is NOT WGA Validation related, then please report your question in the Vista News Group (http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.mspx) or contact Windows support at (http://support.microsoft.com)
