    I am not sure if this is the correct place for this but are my messages stored on my local machine?  For example, what if we lose power or I accidentally close the message window before I choose to save the message?

    Can you let us know the status of your question?

    In Communicator, you can go to Tools and then Options. On the Personal Tab under PIM you can select to save your IM conversations to your Outlook Conversation History folder. This would store them in your Exchange environment.

    Does that answer your question?
