CRM 2011(IFD & ADFS) Error: CRM Website is not loading (white screen appears) after auto recycling CRMAppPool. MSCRM is undefined error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

We need an urgent help from all of you. We are facing weird behavior in our PRODUCTION environment. CRM web site was not loading properly after auto recycling 'CRMAppPool' application pool. After logon to the application white screen appears with JavaScript error message “MSCRM undefined”.  Issue started after installing Rollup 10 (not r2) earlier we had Rollup 6 and everything was working smoothly. Below are details:

    • Issue Description: CRM web site was not loading properly after auto recycling 'CRMAppPool' application pool. After logon to the application white screen appears with JavaScript error message “MSCRM undefined”. The 'CRMAppPool' setting for the property IdleTimeout was 1500 and ‘Regular time Interval (minutes)’ was 720 Minutes. Later we modified the ‘Regular time Interval (minutes)’ to 0 to disable the auto recycling for CRMAppPool. Even sometimes we have to clear Temporary ASP.NET Files folder after manual IIS restart or recycling CRMAppPool to work the CRM website.

Note: we are not facing this issue in UAT environment which is On Premise (Non IFD) deployment (whereas PROD is IFD ) with same versions of server and rollup.

    • Repro Steps: Logon to CRM Website.
    • Expected Results: CRM Web Site main page should be loaded properly after logon.
    • Actual Results: A JavaScript error message “MSCRM is undefined” appears on load of main.aspx and screen goes white.
    • Workaround: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc745955.aspx using this article we changed the Regular Time Interval (minutes) setting to “0” from the default value “1740” to resolve the issue (as a workaround) of “unable to load crm website after auto recycling of CRMAppPool”. Still we looking for the root cause to resolve this issue and change back the Regular Time Interval setting to default “1740” so that CRMAppPool auto recycle after this period.
    • Environment:  Windows Server 2008 R2, MS CRM 2011 rollup 10 (not R2) IFD and ADFS.

    Thanks,

    Deepak
