  • I HANE SPENT HUMDREDZ OF POUNDS ON UP DATING MY DOFTWERE ONLY TO GET STUCK WITH BLUE STAR ON MY WINDOWS XP PRO WICH WHEN XHECKED WHEN I START MY COMPUTER EAH TIME COMES UP AS GENUINING COPY. SORY ABOPUT S[EELING BUT HAVE WASTED OVER TWO DAYS ON THIS PROBLEM NOW THINKING OF BUYING APPLE AS AM SICKN OF ALL THE TINE AND MONEY IT IS COSTING ME

  • How to activate Windows XP by phone
    To contact a Microsoft customer service representative to activate Windows by phone, follow these steps:

    1. Click 'Start', point to 'All Programs', point to 'Accessories', point to 'System Tools', and then click 'Activate Windows'.
      Or, click the Windows Activation icon in the notification area (aka system Tray).
    2. Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to active Windows now.  
    3. Follow the steps in the Activate Windows by phone dialog box, and then click Next.
    4. When activation is completed and you receive the following message, click OK.
     "You have successfully activated your copy of Windows".

    Please follow these steps for assistance:

    Step 1 is to run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012, then click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response in this thread.

    Step 2 is to look on the computer or with the materials you received with the computer or with Windows to see if you have a Certificate of Authenticty (COA).  If you have one, tell us about the COA.  Tell us:

    1.  What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center, or another version of Windows?

    2.  Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?

    3.  Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?

    4.  DO NOT post the Product Key.

  • lol roumd and round i go my copy of xp ok but still cannat get rid of star/

    Just goenloadimg more junk read that once the star is on computer it can not be removed.  Saving up for an apple.
