Expired One Care under email of computer tech who installed it RRS feed

  • Question

  •

My one care live subcription has expired and when I try to renew it gives me the page to sign in using the live ID that it was purchaced under. Problem is that the person who installed it was a computer repair man and it is his email id that I cannot change so I do not know the password.

Yesterday I purchased Windows Live One Care through the web site, my computer did a long update and restarted but my icon is still red saying that my subcription is expired. How can I sign in with a new ID??

You need to use the One Care Cleanup tool to remove one care.

You need to remove any software tied to the Computer Tech.

Go back to one care , sign in, and then download and install. It will work.

  • I've moved your post to the General topic folder.

I've marked Rickem's post as the answer, but you may be able to resolve it simply by removing OneCare from the PC via Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and then install fresh from http://onecare.live.com

The cleanup tool would be used if the uninstall didn't work properly.

Once you've reinstalled, open OneCare, click Subscribe and sign in with the LiveID you purchased the subscription with.
