Long/Lat and mapping RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a dataset containing information on equipment that is scattered across the US.  More than 50,000 pieces of equipment.  Each has longitude/latitude coordinates in the dataset.  Trying to create a SandDance map (just like the demo) with this data, simply showing (initially) where the equipment is.  But . . . oddly, the visual severely truncates the data.  The continental US can be contained in roughly (north-south) 25 t0 50 degrees latitude, and (east-west) -65 to -125 degrees longitude.  But SandDance won't read the whole dataset.  It cuts off a -99 degrees longitude and about 29 degrees latitude.  So, I get Texas, Florida and the US southeast.  But not the entire US.  Any thoughts out there?  If I do a simple scatter chart I can get all of the data (apparently) so I don't think it's a data problem.  Why (I ask) is SandDance throwing up?  Too much data?
