What is the purpose of SetRelated in CRM 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm try to figure out the purpose/effect/result of the SetRelated message when passing a TargetSetRelatedLeadToAccount or TargetSetRelatedLeadToContact within the message. First of all I don't see any relation between the account and leads on the account form or the same on the contact form. Secondly, what I do see is a row being created in the database in the AccountLeads table (or ContactLeads table for contacts). So, if I can't see any effect/result in the UI what is the purpose of these messages anyway? Is the same in future version of CRM (2011/2013)?

    Best regards,

  • SetRelated creates relationship between 2 records. This message is supported in CRM 2011 & 2013. Using the UI you would be able to see the related records. In the Account Form, on the left navigation pane click leads and you will be able to see the related lead records there.

  • Hi Mamatha,

I'm sorry to say but I don't see the Leads in the left pane. As far as I can see the relation is hidden and I can't change this behaviour.

    Best regards,
