My next attempt is to download WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and run, then retry GenuineCheck.exe
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/DownloadValidationSupport.aspx?displaylang=en
which did nothing, I still get "This version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is no longer supported. Please download the newest version and ensure that your system clock is accurate"

If you are having a problem with Windows Updates, please use Internet Explorer when visiting Windows Update. Your Windows license is genuine according to your MGA Report.

Thanks Carey Frisch, with Win7 I do not have to open I.E. to Update that I found that out...and I do not have issues with Window Updates, not the reason for my attempting to Validate my Win7 copy with Genuine Check.
And per "Your Windows license is genuine according to your MGA Report." how was I to make that determination as the User, when nothing at the end of running MGA Diagnostic Tool raised the Flag to inform me. And what brought me looking for a solution to this forum.
And for some reason when I visited microsoft.com/genuine/validate I accidentally first performed it using Firefox, no results, then I tried suing Chrome, which same thing, however I realize now that you do not receive any Message (Flag) Stating Your Windows Copy is Valid. And I did not really pay attention to the Welcome to Windows of that page.
So error on my part, however I was trying to figure out if I had downloaded GenuineCheck.exe, thinking microsoft.com would recognize I was using Windows 7 64-bit, would allow only the version GenuineCheck.exe for Win7 to be downloaded. It now appears it maybe for WinXP instead, no way to verify this per the file's details.
I visited - Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474
And it is almost as if you have to read every line to see that the page began after the heading with System Tip "This article applies to a different version of Windows than the one you are using. Content in this article may not be relevant to you."
Which would be nice, if in the page heading it would indicate Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications for XP or Vista or Win7.
And after running MGADiag.exe the Validation Info, did not provide an Validation Code, other than 0 as per the link provided by UOldGoat 11 Dec 2011 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/exe-validation.aspx?id=13518 I was expecting a Validation Code something more than 0, so again I thought my my Copy for some reason is not valid...which has happened to me before from ordering XP Pro System Disks...after several months or a year its validated, then not.
I was not having problems with Windows Updates, as I was with Firefox 14, being very slow, crashing, the forever "Not Responding" that seems to be common with Win7...something I never experienced before with other Win OS versions.
And why Firedox not I.E. or Chrome...I have Norton Security Suite v6, and I have used Norton Internet Security's Identity Safe/Safe Web for years, which every time a Browser update comes along, then Identity Safe/Safe Web/Norton Toolbar is not compatible.
And now that I am using a Windows 64-bit OS, I.E. v9 64-bit is not compatible, and it does not seem the Norton Toolbar and Identity Safe/Safe Web works in Chrome v21, although the icon is visible, not showing active and no option to enable, only to disable or remove or hide. And after using computers for 30 years, you become accustom to some features and I am not crazy to some changes in how an OS feels and looks, same of Browsers, since I spend 12-18 hours a day on a computer.
And there are other site features that I use that also are affected when a Browser updates, which is frustrating when you hope the update/upgrade provides better security & ease of use...but then you are spending time trouble shooting, uninstalling and re-installing and this takes away from my time.
And the Forums always seem to have umpteen others with the same issue, no resolve, and more time is wasted looking for a solution. And then the finger pointing begins while the User is caught in the middle. Meanwhile I am not able to continue researching, why I have many computers running Win7 (SP1), Vista (SP1) and XP (SP3) running older version browsers that do work & compatible meeting my needs.
Appreciate your time, and quick response...D.R. "Doc" Young

p.s. it was Firefox that got me to first Validate in steps to correct Firefox's slowness per their instructions, also resource hungry/memory performance and per http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-slow-how-make-it-faster#os=win&browser=fx14
One of the items under Table of Contents is Optimize Windows and that led me to MS Support and Validating Win7

When attempting to validate on Microsoft's website you will get this error:
"This version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is no longer supported. Please download the newest version and ensure your system clock is accurate."
The Solution:
"I discovered the solution to this problem a short time ago and wanted to share with everyone so that you are not led on a wild goose chase. The solution is very simple.
Microsoft forgot to change the URL to point to the new validation software. When you arrive at the old validation page after you press "Continue" on the Validation Required page, just go to the URL and change "exe-validation" to "genuine-validation" and press return.
Example:
Old Link - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/exe-validation.aspx?id=30491
New Link - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/genuine-validation.aspx?id=30491 <-- Use genuine-validation instead of exe-validation
Note: The ID will be different depending on what update you are downloading.
Please let me know if this works for everyone.
Steve"

Please observe the sticky at the top of this forum titled, "Please Read Before Posting" and post your MGADiag report and your question in your own new thread.

Please start a NEW thread of your own, and post an MGADiag report.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
