Windows XP setup fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day!

I'm James and I would like to get your opinions about this problem.

I tried to install Windows XP but my computer restarts every time the message starting windows appears. My CD is Windows XP Professional and I think it was the first release because I got it around 2002-2003.

Procedures that I undertake and symptoms:

    1. Boot from CD
    2. The Windows setup appears
    3. On the bottom of the screen, the setup loading files (i.e partition manager, Video drivers, etc.)
    4. After loading files, the message "starting windows" (at the bottom of the screen) and my computer restarts.

I also tried to copy i386 folder and run the setup (winnt.exe) from the hard disk but my computer restarts and has the same problem.

I checked the memory and its fine.

Please give me some advice and other things that can help me in this problem.

    Computer specification:

    Motherboard: ECS K7AMA2
    Processor: AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    Memory: DDR 256MB RAM (PC2100)
    Video card: Inno3d Geforce 4 MX 440 SE 128mb
    Lan Card: Realtek 8139

Thank you! Please help me because I really need to have Windows XP.

    God bless!!!
