  • Thanks Dan,

Ok that part worked, but now after activation when I click on my user (loading your personal settings...) it keeps telling me "this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate now?" when I click no it logs me off and when I click yes it says "Windows is alreadt activated. Click OK to exit." I click OK and it logs me off again. Please help the wife is going to kill me lol. Thanks

  • Hi Black_Silver1,

If you have another computer and know the passwords on the target computer, you can try the registry edits and file changes in the KB by connecting to the first computer's registry via connect network registry in regedit and by using the administrative share on the first computer's system drive.

If not, try a repair reinstallation:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341
