one care back up restoring files after restoring/formatting hard drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have had a system failure on my laptop and dont seem to be able to recover it, so it looks like I may have to attempt to return it to factory settings and restore my files from a recent one care back-up, my problem is that I Am not sure how to restore the files from the back up (WD external Drive) and do I need to load one care back on as the first thing or will that all come back on with the back up / restore?

  • The first thing you'll need to do is install OneCare so that you can run the restore Wizard. Activate/Subscribe with the same LiveID used to originally subscribe. The steps for doing a restore are below, from online help for OneCare:
