Drivers for undetected hardware RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am pretty interested in building a WHS system using some of my leftover hardware from upgrades. However, some of these like the motherboard are fairly new (AMD 690G chipset) and I am uncertain if the drivers have been integrated into WHS. If there are undetected hardware on WHS, where would I be able to find the drivers? As of this point in time, correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think hardware vendors have any WHS specific drivers. Since the foundation of WHS is based of Windows 2003, as I understand it, would I be able to use Windows 2003 or maybe even Windows XP drivers instead?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

  • Shaun,

Check the web sites of the manufacturer of your components for drivers, they won't have WHS specific, but if they have the relevant Server 2003 drivers, you're set. You may be able to get XP drivers to work at a pinch, but obviously, W2k3 drivers would be more reliable.
