Bsod With Restore Cd RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I boot from a restore CD (tried xfiles too). I get as far as the Windows progress bar on the bottom of the screen than I get the BSOD.

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. STOP: 0X0000000A, (0X08B1A70E, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X89CBA8D7)".

I have a Lite-ON DVD SATA drive and an Asus DVD SATA drive installed and get the BSOD with both drives. I have also tried an ATA Memorex CD drive with the same results. I also tried changing the mode of the SATA controller in the mainboard Bios to IDE. I can successfully restore to every other PC on my network.
