disk write error while checking for genuine download RRS feed

  • I have puchase an authenticated copy of windows proffessional but am unable to install the new product key as disk write error comes up when I try.

    If conditions on your computer's nongenuine installation of XP are such that the Product Key updater utility is unable to genuinize the installation, you will have to wait until the accompanying genuine XP CD arrives from Microsoft.  Once you get the CD, backup and offload your data and then do a clean installation of XP using the genuine CD.
