Office not validating due to older (supposedly uninstalled) version... RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 2007....I have 2003...the problem seems to be with the XP version that was installed on this pc a while back...at first it gave me the green check for 2003 and 2007 but it told me XP was no good. So I used some registry cleaner and was sure I got rid of the remains of XP...now I still get the same message telling me one of them has failed, except now it is not even identifying it as XP anymore, no name at all, just ":"

I figure something must be left over from the registry but I can't figure out what...here is the report that I ran via your instructions.......

  • Just wanted to say thanks, it worked perfectly. At first Office XP was not showing up (because I already did the registry cleanup earler) so I restored to just before I had done that, and then it gave me the option to do the cleanup for XP and now when I do the validation it says successful.

    Thanks a lot!
