MCSA on Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have these following certifications : 270, 646, 642, 640, and 620. Now i would like to obtain MCSA on Windows Server 2008 certification. For server 2003 there are altogether 4 exams required. If i'm planning to do MCSA on Windows Server 2008, what are the exams required?

    Thanks in advance

  • Why would you want to go backwards?  Why not earn the MCITP Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator certification by completing 70-643 and 70-647.

Keep in mind that the MCSA is on 7 year old technology, and many companies are making the switch to Server 2008 and Win7.  Plus, much of what you learn about Server 2008 is backwards compatible to Server 2003.

  • Hi Sam,

The MCSA level cert is no more in Server 08 and the closest comparison will be 'MCITP Server Administrator'.

To achieve this you need 70-640, 70-642 and 70-646 so it looks like you have already achieved this.

    More Information here, https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcitp.aspx#tab2

    Hope this helps,
