Volume is currently missing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Over the last 10 days or so whenever WHS tries to backup the C drive of my desktop either automatically or manually I get the following error message:-

    Failure Details for Volume (Local Disk):
    The volume is currently missing.
    {47c77272-37a0-11dd-8766-806d6172696f}

    The M drive on the same computer backups O.K. as does my laptop.

    I have tried reinstalling the homeserver software on my desktop and I have run the connector troubleshooter from the Widows Home Server Toolkit which didn't come up with any answers to solve the problem.

    Has anyone any idea what the problem is and how I can fix it?

    First, you can try running chkdsk /r on your C drive of your client PC.  If that doesn't help, you might try removing that computer from the Computers and Backup tab, then run the Backup Cleanup (Settings button, Backup tab).  You will lose all of the backups of that PC, but you could then start fresh.
