I tried online activation, but always failed, and the product key is considered unauthorized. The following is the output from mgadiag:

Hello obelix irfan,
Because the product key shown in the report matches what is on your product's Proof of License label, and that product key is no good, we can come to the conclusion that the retail package your purchased is most likely some sort of counterfeit product.
If you are in a position to do so, please return the product and get your money back from the seller.
When you go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Windows button, are you presented with a web page that explains the problem with your Windows installation?

Hello obelix irfan,
Is there a Certificate of Authenticity for Windows on this IBM/Lenovo computer? If so, please state the version and edition of Windows listed on it, but do not post the product key.

thanks for the response, Dan. There does not seem a certificate or something like that. I bought this laptop yesterday to be empty without the operating system. and I bought xp sp3 2002, so this is a fresh installation. I am confused what should I do.Thursday, May 13, 2010 1:08 AM

Hello obelix irfan,
Does the partial product key shown by the report *****-*****-KTD83-72PM2-B3YQG match the corresponding portions of the product key on your yellow-orange Proof Of License label that is inside your retail package?
Is this a full retail license or upgrade retail license?

I am sure did not make a mistake when writing the product key, and that the output (of mgadiag report) matches the proof of license label. This is a full retail license.Thursday, May 13, 2010 1:57 AM
