Walltime - PBS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good afternoon,

On our Linux HPC cluster using PBS, we can require a walltime so that resources have to scheduled for a particular length of time.  Once that time expires, the job ends and the resources are freed (if the job hasn't finished, the status is "Failed").  We'd like the same functionality on Windows HPC.  Any ideas/thoughts on how this might be done?

    Thank you!

  • You can specify [/runtime:{[[DD:]HH:]MM|Infinite}] when you create or submit your job.

  • Excellent.  Obviously, I'm quite new to Windows HPC.  We want to create a Submission filter to ensure this is always specified when jobs are submitted.  Any pointers?  I've done some searching and have found some things to try so I'll be testing in our Dev environment, but any words of wisdom?
