Permissions Issue on WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am connecting to the WHS from a vista 64 bit client.  I have mapped shared drives locally.  If I try to save something directly to the server directory, it states it does not exist, do you want to create?  I say yes, and the same question comes back and it does not create the directory or file.   BUT if i save locally and copy it to the server, i can do so without a problem.

I also cannot even make a folder on WHS.  I have to make it localy and move or copy to server.

I have full rights set up for this account.

Is there a fix for this?
    Thank you! Linda

That's definitely not normal.  Is this a new installation of WHS?  Has it always done this?  Is this a pre-built system or a DIY?  Does it work if you don't use the mapped drive (just go to \\server\[sharename] instead)?  Is it like that for all shares or just certain ones?  Did you set up the permissions in the WHS Console (or somewhere else)?  What are the component numbers on your server (Settings button, Resources tab)?
