Ilegible product key (windows vista) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an HP Pavillion dv5 which came with Windows Vista 64 bits from factory. OS recently crashed and I did not have recovery disks :-(

I tried then with the HP recovery program but it also failed. I found an image of Vista 64 from internet I could use but the label on at the bottom of the laptop has faded out and I don't have the product key for the installation. Could you help me?

Where can I find a link in Microsoft I could download the original Vista 64 OS?

  • There is no download for Windows Vista installation media.  I recommend moving to Windows 7.

  • Contact your local HP office and see if they have Recovery disks available for your machine.

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.
