OCS server with MP-118 4FXO 4FXS not fully working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

We have set up an OCS mediation server with MP-118 4FXO 4FXS.

All related setup has been followed.  We have found that the analog phone can call the communicator client, however we cannot make a call through communicator client to the analog phone.

In the MP118 message log we have found that there is no log at all when call are making from the client to the analog line.

    Any suggestion may be?

    Thank you

  • We had some issues in the Ignite labs.

I would say change your settings back to the instructions in the lab and then on the mediation server, go into the TCP/IP properties of hte Gateway listening interface and go to Advanced. On the DNS tab, uncheck register this connections addresses in DNS. Go to the DNS server and delete the B3MS01 record that points to the IP address of the gateway listening interface. Do an ipconfig /flushdns on the clients and then retry the calls.

  • Hi Thom,

We have followed your suggestion and completed the lab.  We wonder why it did not work before.

  • Hi Eddie,

It sounds like the Mediation server is configured correctly on the gateway listening interface. We now need to find out if the Mediation server is receiving the phone call on its OCS listening interface. If it is not, then that means that the OCS server is not configured properly and is not routing the phone call to the Mediation server.

Have you checked the event log on the Mediation server and the OCS server? Can you see the call making it to the Mediation server?

Have you run Route Helper on your routing data? It is part of the resource kit (setup\i386\setup\LCSRESKIT.MSI) included with the download.

  • This is actually the OCS Ignite Lab scenario we are working on.

Has used Route Helper and call normalization seems fine.

OCS event log for OC client to analog phone:

    Resolution:
Check whether the specified gateway is up and is properly configured.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The gateway showing no log at all when call is making from client to analog phone.

I have also set the DNS entries only for OCS listening LAN connection and not the GW LAN connection for the Mediation Server.

Where else can I configure the OCS to route call to Mediation Server?

  • Hi guys,

I know for mediation server it should use 2 lan cards to point to the OCS server and to the MP114 gateway.

Today I have set to use the 10.1.10.50 for both OCS server and the GW (ports 5061 and 5060 respectively though).

    I can call 2065551237 from analog phone to OC client;

I still cannot call 1236 from OC client to analog phone however for the 1st time, the GW syslog captured the details of that call:

Sorry to put the whole log here though.  However, port number 10.1.10.50:1087 appears quite frequently in the log.

I have only set OCS server and mediation server to use 5061 and 5060.

Will this log helps explaining the error i am having?

    Thank you.

  • Hi, there are some progress for the case:

For the B3MS01 server, we set both OCS listening IP and Gateway listening IP into 10.1.10.50, with 5061 and 5060 ports respectively.  Now we can call at both analog line to OC client vice versa. Could this be a bug in the beta?  I know setting like this is wrong however it really works so far.
