One Care Blocking LoJack RRS feed

  • Anyway to stop One Care from blocking LoJack?

  • Hi,

    Go to Change settings--> firewall--> advanced settings-->on the programs tab, locate for the LoJack program that you have and click on the allow radio button.  click on apply and then ok.

  • LoJack doesn't show as a button choice, although it has been loaded, and it is not available through the "add" function as it's not one to be found easily...

  • When using the add button, you would need to locate the executable. In addition, the program may want specific ports to be open, you'd need to check with LoJack for specific instructions. Other than that, support may be able to assist.
    A final option is to abandon OneCare completely on this PC and uninstall it. Microsoft Security Essentials is the free replacement for OneCare available to all and what you'll be directed to once your current subscription expires. See the announcement about End of Live Guidance in the Install forum for details. MSE does not have a firewall, but provides the same virus and spyware protection (perhaps even better, actually).
