Initial data loading options RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sorry for the vague question. We have an external company implementing our CRM 4.0 implementation. They state it is taking 12 hrs to load 500,000 Contacts. I find that to be excessively high and I'm wondering what options are available to load data into CRM database. I'm interested in others' benchmark numbers during a load.

    Thanks!

  • A lot depends on how you are doing the load, but I have seen load times that have attained > 100 recs/second.  Even with minimal tweaking, hitting 30-40 recs/sec should be feasible.

  • The answer I was given when I asked how they were loading was, "It is a micrsoft api....can not load directly in SQL Server". Like there isn't an option. My guess is that they are using some ETL suite which is the real problem. I sensed reluctance to answer. Wow, the're averging 12 recs/second.

    Thanks!
