Windows 10 Crashing Frequently - Crash Dump Tools RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and am experiencing frequent crashes. At times I can work for hours without issue and other times it is for only a few minutes.  This afternoon I've had several crashes where I've been working for <10 min.

Are there any crash dump utilities for Windows 10 that I can use to pinpoint the cause(s) of the crashes?  Also, where would I find the crash dump files?

Although I don't see any problems in Device Manager but am wondering if there is a driver I need to update to stop the cashes from happening.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 with 8 G RAM and a 500G hard drive with 100G available space.  At rest about 2.7 G of RAM is used and the CPU idles at 3-4% utilization.  I am trying to use a Dell WP2407 as a second display using a VGA port and can't determine if this is an issue because it seems to work fine but can't be sure.

    Any suggestions?
