Install without a floppy?? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I have a brand new intel G33TL motherboard that has no floppy controller and needs to load the intel ICH9 drivers to work.  The board is so new that it doesn't even have a PS2 connector for the keyboard.  The USB keyboard works OK, but the USB floppy drives craps out during the TXT portion of setup.  Even when it does read, the keyboard stops working.  Without the .inf files, I get nothing but a Blue Screen during the TXT setup.

    Any ideas???

Try turning off AHCI in the BIOS. Should be another setting for something like legacy or compatible.

This should let you finish the install.

Try changing it back after the WHS install finishes and you install the drivers for the MB, but there's a decent chance that you'll have to leave it off.
