  • Question

  • Hy....

i have a problem to connect my Netgear-SC101 to the Homeserver.

I think the problem is that the new Homeserver cant assign Driveletters.

  • You can not add a NAS device to the WHS Storage pool.  You may copy or move file to the whs from the NAS box though.

  • The SC101 is SAN, not NAS, and conceptually at least, it would be an ideal way to add storage to a small form factor HomeServer system although I'd be a little reluctant given the device's quirky reputation.

  • You still can't add it to WHS. WHS requires full control of any storage added to the pool; SAN by it's nature can't give that level of control. If it's not in the pool, you can access the space from WHS, but you can't then provide it to your internal users as part of the storage pool. It just looks like another drive, and is only available from the WHS desktop.
