private browsing works! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Whoever suggested the other day trying InPrivate Browsing (under the tools menu) - THANKS!

    For the first time in a year I can now post from home using IE8.

    Which is timely, because FF that I had been using as a workaround, no longer can post at all from the same workstation.

    If the fact that inprivate browsing works is a hint as to what is wrong with the forum and that can still be fixed, that would be best of all.  Others having posting problems, try it!

     ps - actually, the code-insert did not work for me in this mode.

  • Weird, great to hear, this should help us get to the bottom of the exact setting that is responsible for this.

  • I tried Private Browsing a couple of weeks ago. I was able to read the forums and compose a reply, but nothing happened when I hit the submit button and the reply was never posted.

    I believe that was Robert Aldwinckle

    Josh, does that work for you indefinitely in a given session. For me it's equivalent to starting with all cookies deleted in a normal session. At first all appears to be fine then after a few clicks back to the same old problem.

    I have not yet noticed it going away, but I've probably used it only briefly.  I'll keep an eye on it.
