How to change Display Name without leaving questions orphaned?

Question
-
If I go to "Edit My Profile" and change my Display Name, the questions I've made will still be linked to my old Display Name and clicking on the name or the picture will direct to a link that contains the old name like this:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/profile/dwilches/
So it generates an error as that profile doesn't exist anymore:
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Looks like there is no distinction between User Name and Display Name. Am I right?
Is there a way to change the Display Name and have all the questions link to my updated profile?
Thanks.

Yes, that is the default (and only) behavior.
edit: you can also check activity here seeing the name change and older activity with newer profile name.
