It would be nice if Windows Mobile had more app support RRS feed

  • Like the iPhone.  They are apps for banks, apps for XM/Sirius Radio, a DirecTV DVR app, and more.  Microsoft needs to work out deals with all these popular places that people like to go and use and have apps for those.  Also, an option to choose where to install these apps is much needed.  The iPhone has a huge hard drive, Windows Mobile Phones do not.  We only have memory cards.  We need to option to install to a memory card.

  • Of all my complaints about WinMo the lack of apps is not one of them.  Why?  I use my phone for (in addition to a phone) PIM and email on the run.  To me apps are the bling that iPhone users wear.  I don't need apps...I need an easy-on-the eyes and fingers UI (like the iPhone) that provides efficient use of core smartphone features like PIM (which is not really what the iPhone is about).  Moreover, I don't like the idea of having to spend 10's to 100's of dollars to get my multi-hundred dollar smartphone to provide what I need - it should essentially do it out of the box.  Unfortunately this is to some degree the case with WinMo (i.e., it needs apps to help it be what it should be out of the box), which is one of my complaints.

  • I agree.  Windows Mobile left the market wide open, though.  some apps are at handango, others at handmark, etc.  it's kinda hard to get those stores to stop their businesses
