installing backup on mac RRS feed

  • I just bought a new mac.  I would like to install my backup disks on my new mac. How do I do that?

  • If the Mac is using Mac OSX, you can't.

    If you are running Windows on the Mac, you install OneCare (the trial will do) and use the restore option to restore your files.

    It may be possible to copy the zip files from your backup to a location on the Mac hard drive and use a zip/unzip program to extract the files to the Mac. This can be done with WinZip in Windows, but I don't know enough about available compression programs for the Mac to say that this will work or not under OSX.
