  • Hello edgarbm619,

Your Diagnostic Report show that your Vista is Genuine and I see no Activation, Validation or Tamper error codes. The issue you are experiencing with Vista Aero is not Reduced Functionality Mode resulting from Vista being Non-genuine.

Since the issue is not being caused by a Windows Genuine Advantage component, it must be is a Core OS issue  or the computer's hardware does not support running Aero. Either way, the problem is outside the area of knowledge and scope of this forum.

Your computer was built by Compaq and came with Vista Ultimate pre-installed, so I assume the hardware must support running Aero.  If Areo worked in the past, but now does not, I would say the issue is either a hardware failure or an issue within Vista. If Aero hasn't worked since you bought the laptop, I would say the hardware doesn't support Aero. In any case, I highly recommend contacting Compaq (who is your warrenty support provider for your computer (including windows)) for assistance.

    Thank you,
