Can I Access bitlocker encrypted drive using password alone, after formating the OS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have encountered with an issue with bitlocker encryption.

The laptop was installed with Windows 7. A drive in internal hdd and the external hdd is encrypted with bitlocker.

The recovery key was not saved or backed up. The password for accessing drive is only known.

The laptop C: drive got formatted, and a different OS is installed.

Is it possible to access these encrypted drives using the password alone?

Note: I just search on web, and found repair-bde (in windows 8) can do a recovery of the encrypted drive using password.

But I am not sure about this.
