    If you are installing OneCare on a 2nd or 3rd computer or you are reinstalling OneCare, you do not need to use your product key again. Instead, close this browser window, return to OneCare, and click Activate again. On the Sign in page, sign in with the Windows Live ID that you originally used to install OneCare.


    If you get this message more than once, report it as a recurring problem.

    I keep getting this message but nothing happens when I report it.  I just bought this yesterday at Staples.  I signed up for a Windows Live subscription, but I can't activate it.


    Funny, but I got an e-mail from Microsoft.

    I split your post off of the other thread as it is a different issue.


    It appears that your product key was previously used and you need a new product key. You should try to return this to the retailer for an exact exchange.


    Each product key can only be used once to activate a subscription. If you did not successfully activate this on any computers with your LiveID, then it is either a returned product or you ended up with a rare duplicated product key - which does happen.
