  • As I continued to test WHS I had to go to every machine I wanted to backup and install the agent from the client. That got me thinking how great it would be if I could "Push" the client to any machine on my network from the WHS as long as I know the login for an admin account on the client machine. That way you could centralize the process of getting clients setup and ready. Also the process of synchronizing the accounts (matching accounts on client and WHS) should be part of the initial clent setup wizard. The way it is now leaves alot of room for user error and frustration. Thats all for now, however can anyone from the WHS point me in the direction of any docs/white papers on the new technology being used to backup a 50GB client to 29GB?(in my case at least)  Also is there any compression going on at all during the backup process?

  • I am sure a factor of the small backup size is due to not duplicating files.
